Ermoupolis Syros 1895. A Syrian householder, seduced by the promptings of a fellow member of parliament, sells off everything he has and doesn't have and buys industrial shares. Then, together with his wife and seven children, he moves to Athens, in search of a better fortune. But instead of better luck, worse awaits him, as the value of his shares is completely wiped out, and he will be forced to again resort to the same MP, in order to be appointed an undertaker in his neighborhood cemetery. The film is a free adaptation of the short story "The Complaint of the Gravedigger" by Emmanouil Roidis (1895).

*Screened from a new restored digital print.
*The film won one award at Thessaloniki Film Festival: Best Supporting Actress (Matina Moshovi)
