When the police storms into their home and takes her into foster care, she gradually comes to understand that the love she shared with her father was not what she thought. With the help of her new roommate Samia and social worker Jayden, Dalva will learn to become a child again. In this poignant debut feature, Emmanuelle Nicot explores the ramifications of abuse during the fragile period of childhood with deep sensitivity and uncompromising grace, in a hopeful journey toward healing.
*The film was distinguished at this year's Cannes Film Festival, winning the FIPRESCI Prize, while Emmanuelle Nicot was nominated for the Golden Camera. Also, Zelda Samson won the Special Jury Prize (Best Actress) at the São Paulo Film Festival. The film participated in many international festivals, such as the Stockholm, Jerusalem and Hong Kong Film Festivals.
