In Rome, during a weekend in January, a sudden heat wave comes. The sun is initially pleasant, but the heat quickly escalates to a frightening degree, causing people and animals to lose their tempers. Ginevra Elkann's second feature film is a portrait of a population struggling with its anxieties on the brink of an apocalypse. With the tensions condensing each character's worst fears and vices, the film, simultaneously distinguished by black humor and shot in warm tones that emphasize the dense air, tries to keep the pulse of intertwined lives in a state of uncontrollability. The film premiered and was nominated for an award in the Platform program at the 2023 Toronto International Film Festival.
