Sorella di Clausura is a black comedy that follows the adventures of Stella, a 36-year-old woman with a higher education who’s unable to find a job and is obsessed with a Balkan pop star. The film uses overdramatic situations and non-linear narrative to explore themes of desire, social anxiety, and frustration, particularly in the context of Romania's economic difficulties following its EU accession. It is a politically charged, satirical look at the gap between dreams and reality, as well as the transactional nature of relationships in an image-obsessed society.
