Divided into three parts, the film follows pivotal moments in a man’s life and, simultaneously, his country’s: the dark days of war that shape him; the blossoming of an unexpected love that lights up his life; and his solitude as a monk seeking peace after losing his beloved. The two-time Cannes-winning veteran director presents a romantic drama full of fantasy, magical realism and dark humor, exploring the consequences of war, human relationships, and the search for personal peace. He stars alongside the wonderful, talented Monica Bellucci. Set against the enchanting backdrop of Trebinje, with a beautiful soundtrack composed by the director’s son, Stribor Kusturica.
