Best friends Alma and Bětka, both 15, are spending a dull summer by a lakeside, under the supervision of Bětka’s older sister. A random visit to a small island in the middle of the lake will break their monotony.
In his second feature film, Czech director Strakatý delivers a tender coming-of-age story about friendship, the teenage longing to escape, and the restless search for a different world. Imagination blends with reality, mystery with realism, and the beauty of nature with the rich emotional landscape of the girls' souls.
