“Truth as Construction: The Personal and the Political in Nick Broomfield’s Documentary”

Nick Broomfield is a pioneer of a new form of documentary where the creator does not hide behind the camera but invades the frame, participates, asks questions, fails and tries again. Presenting this unique technique, the acclaimed documentary filmmaker will focus, in the context of the masterclass, on the relationship between creator and subject, on “directed” spontaneity, as well as on the place of documentary between art, journalism and activism.
