Fleur and Julian fall madly in love. Shortly after Julian proposes, Fleur gets excited with the idea of getting married in every country where marriage between women is legal. But after only four weddings, their journey comes to an inevitable and painful end.

The young —and already award-winning— Flemish director delivers a tender social drama in her feature debut, inspired by the true story documented in a book by Fleur Pierets. Past and present, memory and reality blend into each other, following a winding path highlighted by the use of handheld camera — which the filmmaker even entrusts to the film’s excellent lead duo for some of their scenes. A heartfelt tribute to love as the ultimate force, and a poignant reminder of life’s fragility.
