The Man From Planet X

1951 | USA | B&W | 71’

Dir.:  Edgar G. Ulmer | Scr.: Aubrey Wisberg, Jack Pollexfen | Cast: Robert Clarke, Margaret Field, William Schallert.

Journalist John Lawrence meets astronomer John Elliot at an observatory on a remote island, where Elliot is observing a planet in orbit that he has named X. There, Lawrence starts to develop feelings for Inid, Elliot's daughter, but things get complicated when the three of them witness the landing of a spaceship carrying a friendly green-skinned alien.

One of the least known gems of 1950s science fiction that was filmed on the incredibly low budget of $40,000, thanks to the resourcefulness of its director, who, in order to save money, reprocessed the setting of "Joan of Arc." The definition of a "creepy B movie" in the 1950s!
