Louis Feuillade's silent cinematic achievement consists of 12 episodes that build a sophisticated, multi-layered narrative with constant revelations about the past which keeps the viewer's interest undiminished and leads to an impressive finale. Judex is praised for its complex characters portrayed with strong performances and its innovative, atmospheric photography. The film follows the eponymous hero as a black-clad avenger seeking revenge against the corrupt banker responsible for his father's death. It is remembered as the ancestor of all superhero adventures, as a commentary on urban justice, and as the first hugely successful mini-series.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Live Musical Accompaniment at the JUDEX Screening!<\/strong>
The screening will be accompanied by a live musical performance, specially designed for the occasion. The musicians Michalis Nivolianitis (piano, percussion, electronics), Vasilis Tzavaras (guitar, loops, keyboards), Michalis Katachanas (violin), Stefanos Psaradakis (percussion, electronics) and Kostas Vazouras (saxophone, flute) will create a live sound atmosphere that will converse with Feydiant's emblematic work.
Their music, based on original themes by Vasilis Tzavaras and Michalis Nivolianitis, combines electronic and electroacoustic music, with references to 20th century trends, post rock, jazz, funk, ambient and cinematic idioms. Through prepared structures and improvisations, a rich and multi-layered soundscape is created, offering the audience a complete cinematic experience.
Michalis Nivolianitis and Vasilis Tzavaras have been collaborating since 1993 as founding members of the band Occasional Dream, while since 2023, together with Miranda Vatikioti and Erato Tzavaras, they founded the artistic-educational group Weave. Together they have released the album Apousia and held dozens of concerts and recordings.
The collaboration of the five musicians for this particular screening promises a unique experience, where the magic of silent cinema meets the freedom of modern improvisation.
